It has only been a week and the iPhone 3G has already been hacked. By hacked, I mean you can now Jailbreak and Unlock the phone. In an online Portuguese video, it shows a person by the name of Bruno MacMasi showing off the unlocked 3G phone.

MacMasi told Gizmodo, that the unlocking process involved modifying the SIM hardware so that the International Mobile Subscriber Identity can be overwritten and removed from the original network.

Along with being able to unlock the new 3G phone, a group known as the iPHone devteam has also released the first jailbreak software. For those of you not familiar with the term, it involves loading applications on the iPhone that are not in the App store. How does Apple feel about this?

Apple has attempted to remain relatively neutral on the matter. The company said that while the jailbreaking processes will void the warranty and possibly cause damage to the phone when new updates are installed, no special efforts will be made to deliberately disable or ‘brick’ hacked iPhones.
