Make Money With Flickr

Flickr and Getty Images entered a partnership today in order to help Flickr users make money via Getty Images for their photographs. Flickr members that are interested in getting their photos featured simply have to wait to be contacted to be featured in a special gallery. Once chosen, a special button with an option to purchase a microstock license via Getty will appear and customers can pay for it on the spot. According to News.com,
“In order to get paid and allow their images to be used, Flickr members must sign a Getty Images contributor contract, which stipulates that the photographer is the owner, and has any necessary model releases and originals. It also outlines the various rates based on size and intended commercial usage.”
Rates are not available yet but are likely to be the same as the standard rates found on Getty. With the new partnership, Yahoo (owner of Flickr) will get a share of the revenue generated, which is also TBD.
